How we write SEO content

Step 1: We plan for ROI

After an initial discussion with you about your goals, we begin with initial keyword research, search intent and link intent mapping, and general audience analysis for maximum ROI. We do this for one month’s worth of content for you to approve before we get started.

To properly run a content campaign for you, we need the following:

  • An email address at your domain (for us that would be nick@newreachagency.com, for example) with the login credentials. We prefer GSuite emails because of the tools we can use to improve ROI for your campaign, but we can work with any.
  • Google Analytics and Google Search Console access so we can create a Google Data Studio dashboard to monitor content performance.
  • CMS Access, so that we can upload and optimize your content.
  • Your contact and payment information for invoicing and updates.

Step 2: We draft initial outlines

These outlines will show you the plan for each piece of content. They are prepared by marketing professionals and are used as guidelines for the writers who then draft the final content piece. Once these are complete, we start writing.

Step 3: We build and publish the content for you

The completed content asset will have been written by a subject matter expert and edited for grammar, spelling, and SEO by a specialist editor. Finally, the content will be published on your site with SEO perfection. This will include things like proper use of meta and title tags, URL structure, image alt tags, and much more. You can check and approve things every step of the way, from outlining, to drafting, to publishing.

FAQ

Why is your quote in ranges?

The typical strategy of most blogs is to publish content regularly, like weekly or monthly.

This doesn’t work for SEO-driven content because each keyword has different requirements for ranking. Some keywords will require content with 5,000 words while others may require only 2,000 words.

Quoting the content in ranges allows us to make the decision about where to allocate your content budget instead of putting ourselves in a box of restrictions. This model enables our content team to chase newfound opportunities quickly and build what’s necessary to rank instead of trying to hit a quota.

Think of it as if we have a fixed bucket of words per month. We need to make the best use of these words for you based on what we need to build in order to rank for the keywords we chose to target.

If you want to write a 2,000-word article but we need 3,000 words to make the content rankable, this model gives us the flexibility to make the call on that.

What industries do you work in?

Because we map subject matter experts into the content instead of hiring generalist writers, we can write for any industry. Even the most specific and granular topics.

If we don’t have a writer on staff for your project, we recruit one. The process of recruiting a writer is at no charge to you. We see it as a way to continue building our network of writers.

What kind of reporting do you do?

At the beginning of each month, you’ll get a content roadmap for the upcoming month. In this same report, you’ll also receive links to newly published content if you’re beyond your first month with us.

As for your level of involvement with the process, you have the option to review the content at the outline, first draft, and final draft stages to suggest changes. We allow up to three revisions.

Additionally, we’ll set up a Google Data Studio dashboard for you to track your performance over time. This is optional with a $500 setup fee because we’ll need to connect lots of data sources and make sure your tracking is set up properly in Google Analytics.

So in summary, here’s what you get for reporting:

  • Content Plan Updates – When new content ideas are added to your pipeline, we’ll send you an email with our reasoning.
  • Google Sheets Access – In here, you’ll be able to see the full content roadmap with links to the docs and live versions of published articles.
  • Content Alerts and Approval Requests (Optional) – You have the option to review content at the outline, first draft, and final draft stages as part of the process. If you prefer we handle everything, you can opt out of the reviewing portion.
  • Complete Google Data Studio Dashboard – There’s a $500 setup fee, but we’ll set up a dashboard for you to measure the SEO performance of your content. You have access to this dashboard throughout the course of our engagement.
